The first new Datsun in a generation )pictured) will be revealed on July 15th
As we reported in 2012 Nissan, having spent countless hundreds of millions replacing the Datsun name with Nissan on its cars a generation ago, decided to revive the Datsun brand for a new range of affordable cars for emerging markets. It looks like the new Datsun – codenamed K2 – will be a mix of the current and last generation Micra with new styling and pitched at around £3500 when it launches in the Indian car market. With the same – but de-tuned – 1.2 litre petrol engine as the Micra, the new Datsun is aimed at cars like the Indian market Hyundai i10 and Maruti, and sales are expected to start in early 2014.

The F1 Circus gets bigger and bigger every year as Bernie Ecclestone continues his aim to host a Grand Prix in every country that can scrape together a few hundred million to add to the bank of Ecclestone. And one of the newest to succumb to the charms of Bernie and F1 is South Korea. There have been doubts that South Korea would get their act together and have their shiny new F1 facility ready to roll for 24th October (next Sunday), but it looks like the track has been signed off for next week’s race.
New Ford Mustang: First right-hand-drive Mustang built
The new Ford Mustang, unlike Mustangs in the past, will be sold in the UK in right-hand-drive (and in other RHD markets too), and that has now got closer with the reveal of the first RHD Mustang (above) to roll out of a Ford production plant. Ford has already taken orders for the first 130 UK spec RHD Mustangs during the UEFA Champions League final back in May, when 500 new Mustangs were offered as a high-profile way to kick off sales of the new Mustang in Europe. The Mustang is available for the UK in RHD as either a Fastback or Convertible and a choice of either a 420bhp V8 or 2.3 litre EcoBoost with 324bhp, with a standard spec that includes Ford’s SYNC 2, Park Assist, Leather and 19″ alloys.
